Student mortified after leaving rude nickname for tutor at top of essay – and he makes it even more embarrassing

A student sent a grovelling e-mail of apology to her tutor after realising she had accidentally submitted an essay containing a rude nickname for him.
Zoey Oxley, from Cincinatti in Ohio, had included the cheeky name in the template of her assignment when she couldn’t remember what her professor was called.
She had intended to change it before submitting the essay but it totally slipped her mind.
When she realised what had happened, she got in touch with him immediately – before he’d even spotted it.
And if that’s not embarrassing enough, her professor, John Hendel, shared the story of the offending moniker on Twitter where it’s been ‘liked’ more than 300,000 times.
He wrote: “A student emailed me, profusely apologizing (sic) for getting my name wrong at the top of their paper, and I was like, ‘Thanks, whatever, nbd.’

“Then I got to their paper and saw their instructor was ‘Professor whats his nuts’.”
Zoey was a good sport about the embarrassing incident, revealing herself as the student John was talking about.
She posted pictures telling the story of everything that had happened on her Twitter account, with the caption ‘a series of unfortunate events’.

Included in her post was a photograph of the e-mail she had sent to her tutor when she realised her huge mistake.
She wrote: ‘Professor Hendel,
‘I am writing this email very embarrassingly. As I began writing my paper, I wrote out the template. Unfortunately, I could not remember your last name, so I filled it with something completely unprofessional.
‘It was my intention to change the name before submission, but it completely slipped my mind.

‘I attempted to resubmit the assignment but was unable to.
‘I am so very sorry for the lack of respect that was used and again I apologize (sic) for this mistake.
‘I hope that this does not reflect what you think of me and that the next assignment I can address by the correct name.
‘Thank you again and I am so sorry.
‘Thank you,
‘Zoey’
