ODDS AND ENDS: Missing golden toilet and other offbeat offerings

Ever used a toilet made of gold?
According to NPR, a golden commode — a piece of art entitled America — was stolen from England’s Blenheim Palace where it was installed as part of an exhibition earlier this month.
Thames Valley Police say the thieves broke in, stole the $1.25-million crapper and escaped in two vehicles.
“The piece of art that has been stolen is a high-value toilet made out of gold that was on display at the palace,” Det.-Insp. Jess Milne said in a statement. “Due to the toilet being plumbed into the building, this has caused significant damage and flooding.”
A 66-year-old man was arrested in connection to the theft. However, the toilet remains missing.
Before it was stolen, visitors to the palace could book three-minute appointments to use the toilet.
