The opening day of the IAAF World Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar, saw an incredible moment of sportsmanship in the Men’s 5000m heats.

Guinnea-Bissau’s Braima Suncar Dabo saw a fellow runner, Jonathan Busby of Aruba, struggling on the final lap and helped him to the finish line.

After the race, the two atheletes – who had never met before the race – embraced during an emotional reunion.

“You’re the biggest man – with the biggest heart,” Busby told Dabo.

The 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships is the 17th edition of the biennial, global athletics competition organized by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). It is held between September 27 and October 6, 2019.

Nearly 2,000 athletes from 209 nations compete in a total of 49 athletics events.
